Rove Improves Loyalty Eligible Hotel Bookings

Rove made big news two weeks ago when it launched its new Loyalty Eligible feature, which allowed members—for the first time—to triple-stack the rewards that they earned on hotel stays. Now, Rove continues to prove its worth as it makes a much-requested change.
Beginning November 1, 2025, Loyalty Eligible bookings will add new features, including updates to the merchant of record (MOR). Let’s talk about what these changes mean and how they benefit you.
Earn More Rewards on Loyalty Eligible Bookings
When the first iteration of Loyalty Eligible launched on October 14, 2025, it was already a game-changing solution to a common issue: Hotels incentivize you to book directly within their platforms by restricting the perks you’ll get if you book elsewhere.
That changed when Rove debuted Loyalty Eligible, which allows you to book your stay on Rove and still earn elite night credits and benefits.

But we’ve heard the feedback—and we’re here to listen. Rather than having Rove as the merchant of record (MOR) for Loyalty Eligible bookings, Rove users have requested that we pass along this responsibility to individual hotels.
This makes sense. After all, there are plenty of co-branded hotel credit cards that’ll reward you for booking stays. The Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card, for example, earns 14x Hilton points per $1 spent on Hilton stays, but the hotel itself needs to be the MOR, not Rove.
Now, we’re pleased to announce that all future Loyalty Eligible bookings will have your preferred hotels as the MOR so your stays will be more rewarding than ever.
Rove Updates Prepaid Loyalty Eligible Stays
Our initial version of Loyalty Eligible required that your stay be prepaid. While this works for a lot of folks, we heard that many didn’t feel comfortable booking a prepaid property in case plans changed.
That’s why we'vemade updates to prepaid Loyalty Eligible stays. What does this mean? From now on, the hotel is the one that handles charges, whether that means you won't be charged until you stay at the hotel, simply need to make a deposit, or pay in full when you make the booking.

There is a tradeoff to these features. To enable elevated rewards on Loyalty Eligible bookings, the Rove Miles you’ll earn on your stays will now take longer to post.
While this isn’t our favorite option, it’s one we’ve needed to implement while we wait for the hotel to pass back verification that you’ve completed your stay. Don’t worry—you’ll still get your Rove Miles as quickly as we can manage.
The Bottom Line
Rove has debuted new features on its Loyalty Eligible hotel bookings, including making hotels as the merchant of record (MOR) and lessening prepaid requirements. Extra flexibility when booking and more rewards than ever? We know you’ll love it as much as we do!
